Job Summary: The Security Manager safeguards UNITEC’s assets and the physical integrity of the UNITEC community by applying procedures to prevent accidents and control inventories. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage security processes to prevent and reduce risks on campus. 2. Implement and keep the Civil Protection Program up to date. 3. Train security personnel and support the UNITEC philosophy. About the Role SECURITY MANAGER Safeguard the institution’s assets and the physical integrity of the UNITEC community by implementing and verifying compliance with established procedures and controls, which contribute to accident prevention and reduction, as well as inventory and asset control. Your Key Challenges • Manage security processes with external security personnel to ensure appropriate mechanisms and guidelines are applied to prevent and reduce risks, guaranteeing a secure environment and optimal campus operations for the UNITEC community. • Implement action plans aimed at correcting opportunities and anomalies identified during campus reviews regarding the application of security-related policies and procedures within university facilities, as defined institutionally. • Implement and maintain an updated Civil Protection Program on campus, adhering to established guidelines, standards, and policies, while coordinating training plans for emergency response teams and the broader UNITEC community. • Promptly detect losses caused by theft, improper administrative control handling, and/or accidents and incidents, as well as operational expenses and opportunities across campus, through analysis of system-generated reports and verification of procedure and control implementation. • Train external security personnel to support adherence to the UNITEC philosophy, as well as the institution’s general, operational, and programmatic guidelines. • Prepare and submit incident reports, audits, and inspection reports required by governmental and institutional entities regarding campus security and civil protection, and follow up on recommendations or observations issued by these entities. Profile We Seek Essential Requirements: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Law, or Criminology. • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Security Manager, with supervisory responsibilities. • Skills: Leadership, effective communication, interpersonal skills, compliance orientation, ability to work under pressure, conflict resolution. • Valid driver’s license / mandatory Your Impact at UNITEC At UNITEC, we strive to deliver high-quality, practical, accessible, and transformative education.
