Opportunity for professional development in a restaurant environment A reputable restaurant group, Grupo Califa, is seeking staff for its Peltre cafeteria located at Parque La Mexicana, Paseo de los Arquitectos, Santa Fe, Contadero, Cuajimalpa. **Job Title:** Kitchen Assistant **Department:** Kitchen / Food and Beverage **Reports To:** Chef, Head Chef, or Lead Cook **Position Type:** Operational **Work Schedule:** Full-time / Part-time (as required) **Job Objective:** Support the kitchen team in basic food preparation, cleaning, organization, and maintenance of the work area, ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety standards. **Duties and Responsibilities:** * Assist in ingredient preparation (washing, peeling, chopping, grating, etc.). * Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas, utensils, equipment, and kitchen tools. * Wash dishes, cookware, and other implements used in food production. * Assist in plating dishes under the cook’s supervision. * Receive, inspect, and store supplies and raw materials following proper storage guidelines. * Dispose of waste appropriately in accordance with establishment protocols. * Assist in general kitchen cleaning at the end of each shift. * Comply with hygiene and food safety standards (e.g., proper uniform usage, handwashing, etc.). * Perform other duties assigned by the chef or department supervisor. **Job Requirements:** **Education:** * Minimum education: Completed secondary school * Preferred: Basic food handling course or technical training in gastronomy **Experience:** * Prior experience in kitchens or restaurants is preferred **Knowledge:** * Basic hygiene and safety standards * Proficiency in using kitchen utensils * Food preservation (preferred) **Skills and Competencies:** * Teamwork * Speed and efficiency * Service-oriented attitude * Responsibility and punctuality * Ability to follow instructions **Working Conditions:** * Work in humid and hot environments * Shift work, including weekends and holidays (as per establishment requirements) * Prolonged standing * Uniform and protective equipment required Requirements: Birth certificate, INE, CURP, NSS, RFC, proof of address, academic transcripts, and two letters of employment or personal recommendation (RFC must be updated within the last three months).
