Description

Job Summary: A Mechanical Design Engineer who contributes to creating solutions that transform mobility by designing safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing components and systems for rail transportation. Key Highlights: 1. Design of components and systems for rail transportation. 2. Creation and maintenance of 3D models and 2D drawings of parts. 3. Collaboration with teams and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance. At Alstom, we understand transportation networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signaling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the industry’s broadest portfolio. Every day, 80,000 colleagues worldwide lead the way toward greener and smarter mobility—connecting cities while reducing carbon emissions and replacing cars. Are you passionate about engineering and innovation? Join our team and contribute to creating solutions that transform mobility. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of projects making a difference in rail transportation—designing components and systems that combine safety, efficiency, and aesthetics. You will integrate mechanical subsystems, design parts and assemblies in 3D and 2D, ensure components fit assigned spaces, and prepare documentation for installation. This role requires collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to guarantee technical quality and compliance. Your responsibilities will include: * Creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies. * Ensuring designs comply with assigned spaces and defined interfaces. * Preparing space mock-ups (SAM) and installation documentation. * Reviewing and validating supplier feedback. * Participating in technical discussions to define solutions. * Managing engineering change requests. * Supporting testing and verification at plant or supplier sites. We value passion and attitude over experience; therefore, we have listed some skills we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role: * Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. * 2–3 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in heavy industry. * Experience in 3D modeling and drawing creation (CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE preferred). * Knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., ENOVIA or Teamcenter). * Fluent English (able to engage in spoken technical conversations). * Rigor and attention to detail. * Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across departments. You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you board one of our trains with friends or family, you’ll feel proud. If you’re ready for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you! Important Note As a global company, we are an equal opportunity employer celebrating diversity across the 63 countries where we operate. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace for all. **Job Segment:** PLM, Management
