




**Telecommunications Infrastructure Installer Profile – Underground Installation Project** **Position:** Fiber Optic Installer **Project Location:** University facilities **Work Mode:** Field / Operational **General Description:** The fiber optic installer will be responsible for carrying out cable pulling, installation, and commissioning activities of fiber optic cables within underground conduits across campuses. The installer must ensure proper handling of materials and compliance with the technical and safety standards established by the project, guaranteeing network integrity and minimal disruption to institutional operations. **Main Responsibilities:** * Pull and install fiber optic cables into underground ducts and manholes. * Install and secure protective components, closures, and splice enclosures. * Participate in the installation and connection to telecommunications rooms and distribution racks. * Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations set forth by the university and the contracting company. * Coordinate with the site supervisor and technical lead to verify routes, lengths, and procedures prior to each intervention. * Report daily progress, incidents, and site conditions. **Minimum Requirements:** * Education: High school diploma (preferred). * Minimum of 2 **years of experience in underground fiber optic network installation**. * Knowledge of **conduit installation, manholes, backbone cabling, and internal distribution wiring**. * Basic ability to read blueprints, conduit routes, and network diagrams. * Ability to work in a team and under technical supervision.
