Follow up with guests to ensure they are satisfied with the resolution of their issues. Process all guest check-in records by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys. Process all types of payments made, such as lodging charges and payments made in cash, by check, or debit or credit card. Open accurate accounts for each guest upon check-in (i.e., shared rooms, separate rooms, taxes, incidentals, comps). Anticipate situations where room availability is exhausted and secure satisfactory alternative accommodations if the hotel cannot accommodate guests with reservations. Block rooms on the computer and identify specific requests and requirements. Contact the appropriate person or department (e.g., Bell Staff, Housekeeping Department), as needed, to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems. Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department to follow up and ensure rooms are in perfect condition upon guest arrival. Review employee shift logs and daily memo books and document relevant information in the records. Count cash at the beginning and end of the shift. Balance and turn in receipts according to Accounting specifications. Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees and serve as an example and first point of contact for the "Fair Treatment Guarantee and Open Door Policy" process. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager; conduct trainings and obtain safety certifications. Comply with all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Anticipate guest service needs and address them promptly. Communicate clearly and professionally with others, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer telephones using proper protocols. Foster and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: High school diploma or equivalent certification from a General Educational Development program. Relevant Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience. Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is not required.
