**Job Objective:** Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes following the chef’s instructions and adhering to the restaurant’s quality, hygiene, and food safety standards. **Main Responsibilities:** * **Food Preparation:** * Perform basic kitchen tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients. * Assist in dish preparation under the supervision of the chef or senior cook. * Prepare side dishes, salads, and simple appetizers according to the menu. * **Compliance with Hygiene and Safety Standards:** * Ensure the work area is clean and organized at all times. * Comply with food hygiene and handling standards (handwashing, glove use, proper food storage). * Report any anomalies regarding ingredient quality or kitchen equipment. * **Inventory Control:** * Assist in receiving and storing supplies and ingredients. * Monitor and report ingredient usage to prevent waste and shortages. * Verify proper product rotation according to expiration dates (first in, first out). * **Service Support:** * Collaborate in plating dishes, ensuring adherence to required presentation standards. * Support kitchen service during peak hours, following instructions to maintain operational efficiency. * **Equipment Maintenance:** * Perform basic maintenance of kitchen utensils and report any damaged equipment. * Follow instructions for correct use and cleaning of kitchen equipment. **Requirements:** * **Education:** Completed high school or currently studying gastronomy. * **Experience:** Minimum 6 months of kitchen experience preferred (not mandatory). * **Knowledge:** * Basic cooking techniques. * Food hygiene and handling standards. * Basic knife skills and cutting techniques. **Skills:** * Ability to follow instructions. * Teamwork. * Attention to detail. * Ability to work under pressure. * Initiative and willingness to learn. **Job Conditions:** * **Work Schedule:** Full-time. * **Working Hours:** Rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, or night shifts). * **Work Location:** Restaurant kitchen. **Development Opportunities:** * Opportunity for continuous learning and growth within the kitchen team. * Potential for promotion to senior cook or specialization in specific kitchen areas.
