




Position Summary: We are seeking a power systems engineer to train and support customers in the design, configuration, validation, and operation of automation and protection systems. Possesses, understands, and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the power system focus area\* and related SEL products. 2\. Train and support customers in the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and/or protection systems. 3\. Complete and implement assigned work within agreed scope, schedule, and budget, with a high level of quality and safety. 4\. Participate in developing functional design specifications. 5\. Follow and apply SEL values, Operating Principles, and World-Class Manufacturing principles. 6\. Understand. Create. Simplify. 7\. Other duties as assigned. ***Required Qualifications*** BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline More than 2 years of experience in relevant applications involving electrical power systems. Good knowledge of protection and control applications, integration and/or automation, and communications for electrical power systems. Practical knowledge of electrical power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications. Strong written, documentation, and verbal communication skills. Intermediate English proficiency. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Satisfactory background check results for SEL. Negative drug test result(s). ***Preferred Qualifications*** University coursework in electrical power and/or controls (power system protection, programming, control systems) Work experience with electric utilities ***Focus Area \= Protection, Design*** * Protection \= system protection, protective relays and their applications, settings and testing * Design \= analyzes technical specifications; creates detailed physical and electrical designs, bills of materials, and job estimates. ***Physical Requirements*** None Requirements: Intermediate\-Advanced English Knowledge of protection systems Knowledge of PCYM panel manufacturing (desirable) AutoCAD proficiency Interpretation of customer specifications, cable wiring diagrams, and schematics Generation of layouts and cable wiring diagrams
