Position Summary: Responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of tooling and gear manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety in an automotive manufacturing environment. Key Highlights: 1. Strong focus on precision machining and cutting tools. 2. Development and improvement of tooling for gear manufacturing processes. 3. Participation in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans. Position Objective Responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of tooling and processes related to gear manufacturing, ensuring compliance with quality specifications, productivity, safety, and customer requirements. The position emphasizes precision machining processes, cutting tools, dimensional analysis, and production support within an automotive manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Development and improvement of tooling for gear manufacturing processes. Technical support to production and resolution of tooling-related issues. Optimization of cutting tool life. Monitoring of the following processes: Gear hobbing Shaping Broaching Grinding Heat treatment distortion analysis Interpretation of GD&T drawings and gear specifications. Root cause analysis and corrective actions. Coordination with tooling suppliers and quality/manufacturing departments. Implementation of improvements to reduce scrap, increase efficiency, and shorten cycle times. Participation in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans. Dimensional and functional validation of components. Compliance with automotive safety and quality standards. Requirements: Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related degree. Experience in gear manufacturing. Knowledge of CNC machining processes. Experience with cutting tools and tooling. Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T tolerances. Experience in the automotive industry. Intermediate/technical English. Intermediate/advanced Excel. Experience in: AGMA / DIN standards. Gear inspection experience. CAD/CAM software proficiency. Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma. IATF 16949 knowledge.
