We are seeking a talented **Senior Process Quality Engineer** to join our specialized Quality team in **San Luis Potosí, SLP (100% on-site role)**. **Summary:** The Senior Process Quality Engineer creates value for the plant by leading continuous improvement projects aimed at achieving defect-free processes that meet customer needs and business objectives. **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** * Responsible for applicable systems related to customer issues at the plant, such as corrective action requests. * Leads containment activities. * Ensures products and processes comply with initial and long-term quality standards (e.g., IATF, customer-specific requirements, APQP, PPAP documentation submission, etc.). * Leads and/or supports change management activities for current product and VPI (Value Package Introduction), verifying products and processes to ensure key metric compliance and analyzing data for decision-making. * Supports and/or leads quality audits. * Acts as the technical Quality resource for other functional areas. * Trains and mentors less experienced team members on quality practices. * Supervises, promotes, and supports team talent development (Process Quality Technicians and Quality Auditors), fostering technical growth and accountability. * Leads prioritization of continuous improvement initiatives with key cross-functional partners using proven industry methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 7-Step Problem Solving, IQTM, etc.). * Applies core AIAG tools. * Leads and/or supports Safe Launch initiatives through VPI. * Applies GD\&T for drawing interpretation. * Provides support for CNC machinery and processes. * Monitors and reports key performance indicators (KPIs): PPMs (defects per million), Scrap vs. Sales. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **To be successful in this role, you will need:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field. * Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably as a Process Quality Engineer. * Experience with Core Tools: PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP. * Knowledge of machining and CNC processes. * Experience in process audits (system, process, product). * Fluent English (written, spoken, and reading) to effectively participate in meetings with stakeholders. * Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (7-Step, FTAs). **Desired:** * Automotive industry experience. * Experience in drawing interpretation (GD\&T). **Competencies:** * Effective communication * Customer focus * Problem solving * Collaboration * Negotiation * Conflict management * Managing complexity * Decision quality **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education, licenses and certifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field. **Job** Quality **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** On\-site with Flexibility **Job Type** Exempt \- Experienced **ReqID** 2428193 **Relocation Package** Yes **100% On\-Site** Yes Due to the operational nature and specific job duties of this role, work is required to be completed 100% in person/On\-site.
