Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.**Job Responsibilities:** **Position Objective** Ensure full compliance with the IATF 16949 quality management system across the entire molding manufacturing process. **Key Responsibilities** * Define the quality control system, primarily documented in control plans and process/product release plans. * Define measurement and testing methods for plastic parts and establish systems to reduce or prevent recurrence of defects to customers; apply problem-solving methodologies. * Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports. * Prepare PPAP documentation and/or coordinate activities to complete PPAP information, including customer approval follow-up. Issue validation test reports. * Participate in the Product Development Process (PDP). * Manage the measurement team under your supervision, ensuring auditors properly use measurement equipment. * Develop safe launch, inspection, and testing work instructions. * Review and update procedures and work instructions relevant to your area. * Train personnel on acceptance criteria for plastic parts. * Conduct cross-functional process audits, review 8D reports or cross-functional corrective actions. * Perform Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) on applicable equipment under your responsibility. * Establish acceptance criteria based on customer specifications or internal standards. * Monitor and record moisture and viscosity tests and other tests applicable to the Process Control Plan (PCP). * Verify customer rejections (internal/external), implement containment measures, and resolve customer rejections—from quality alert deployment and containment through to root cause analysis closure. * Collaborate with Division departments to reduce defects and increase productivity. * Provide support for special departmental activities as required. * Coordinate activities of personnel under your supervision, and administer and track payroll incidents, leave requests, and vacation schedules. * Lead quality improvement projects focused on innovation, process optimization, and scrap reduction. * Generate internal quality measurement reports, such as First Pass Yield (FPY), nonconforming product handling, problem resolution time, and other reports requested by Quality Management. * Implement a product and process audit plan, conduct process audits against control plans, and verify implementation of corrective actions. **KEY INDICATORS** Total Claims Plant Internal Claims FPY PPSR application (internal issues) PPSR time to close Major Nonconformance during IATF audits related to your process PCP \& IPICS (functionality\-appearance) Process audit plan compliance Product audit plan compliance Scrap reduction projects Quality Gates certified CQI Molding compliance Appareance Masters available/Zones Road map activities implemented/Quality improvement projects in molding Quality Control Devices available per CSR **Education and Experience** * Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. * Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role with people management responsibilities; preferably in the automotive industry. **Required Competencies** * Knowledge of basic problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 8 Steps). * Basic knowledge of Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC). * Familiarity with customer specifications related to plastic parts. * Ability to hold conversations in English. * Proficiency in operating molding measurement equipment (e.g., glossmeter, vernier caliper, gage fixture, hygrometric scale, etc.). * Ability to perform dimensional inspections of plastic parts using gage fixtures. * Knowledge of customer-specific requirements (as applicable). * IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification (preferred). * Analytical skills. * Customer negotiation skills. **Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:** ---------------------------------- At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
