Through Dana, international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket segment receive localized service support and products from a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution centers. **Purpose of the Role** ------------------------- Administer safety and environmental prevention systems and programs related to Integrated Safety (occupational safety, industrial hygiene, asset security) and environmental matters applicable to the company, in accordance with corporate guidelines, current legislation, and the company’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Policy—aiming to ensure a safe workplace for employees and environmental responsibility, thereby contributing to corporate objectives and fulfilling internal, customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements including IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. **Key Responsibilities and Duties** ------------------------------------------- * Responsible for implementing the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System, as well as activities necessary to safeguard the company’s physical assets. * Develop and manage annual programs aimed at improving integrated safety, environmental protection, and occupational health. * Investigate root causes of all incidents or accidents affecting—or potentially affecting—personnel, company assets, or the environment, to prevent recurrence. * Reduce accident frequency and severity within the plant, as well as occupational disease incidence, aiming to lower the IMSS-calculated Risk Premium. * Coordinate and actively participate in the Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental Committee to prevent risks and identify unsafe acts or conditions that could lead to injuries, illnesses, and/or damage to personnel, company assets, or the environment. * Assign appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for various activities and operations conducted within the company, and supervise proper usage by personnel to mitigate risks to workers and ensure rational PPE utilization. * Maintain operational Emergency Committees and DANA Emergency Brigades, managing training and competency development to ensure effective response to any emergency occurring at the facility or in the surrounding area, thereby safeguarding personnel, facilities, and the environment. * Maintain and track audits related to Ecology and Safety conducted by certification bodies, federal, state, and municipal institutions, corporate entities, etc., to fulfill customer requirements and applicable legal obligations. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal documentation and records related to Safety, Hygiene, Health, Environment, and other commitments assumed by the company—including those from customers and the community—such as the ISO 14000 Environmental Management System. * Manage the generation, handling, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with legal requirements, environmental management system standards, and corporate guidelines. * Analyze Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) performance indicators to identify potential improvement opportunities and propose corrective actions addressing nonconformities. * Carry out continuous improvement initiatives targeting departmental processes and indicators to support achievement and enhancement of area results. * Administer training and education for personnel on topics related to industrial safety, hygiene, and environmental protection. * Know, comply with, and enforce the company’s Safety and Health Regulations to prevent accidents, eliminate unsafe acts and conditions, and avoid deviations from the Environmental Management System per ISO 45001 / Occupational Health and Safety. * Be familiar with applicable Work Instructions (WI’s) and Operating Procedures (OP’s) under the ISO IATF 16949 Quality Management System relevant to this role. * Fulfill roles and responsibilities as defined in matrix CORPEFCD-00002. * Comply with applicable Work Instructions (WI’s) and Environmental Procedures (OP’s) to protect and preserve the environment. **#OCCDANAMEXICO** **#COMM** **Education and Qualifications** --------------------------------------- Minimum Education: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Industrial Safety Engineering.
