





Overview: Process payroll accurately and consistently, prepare and calculate payroll taxes to local and federal authorities, validate the correct calculation of employer-employee social contributions derived from payroll. Perform year-end closing control and validation activities. Support financial audits and SOX compliance audits. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Validate and ensure the correct calculation of payroll performed by the payroll provider, identifying deficiencies and errors. * Verify that all incidents and updates reported by HR are correctly applied in the payroll (such as absences, overtime hours, bonuses, gratifications, etc.). * Verify and ensure the application of personnel changes and movements (such as hires, terminations, transfers, promotions and advancements, reclassifications, among others). * Ensure payroll payments are made timely on the scheduled date. * Submit payment requests on the corresponding dates. * Maintain control of deductions applied to employees' gross salaries, including: Income Tax, Mandatory Social Security, Alimony, Seizures, Retirement Funds, Savings Fund, cash shortages, parking fees, etc. * Provide payroll-related reports and lists to departments dependent on the area such as: HR, Finance, Comptroller, and GL. * Analyze and reconcile data related to employee earnings, taxes, and contributions. * Monitor reports related to employee punctuality and attendance to provide information to the Labor Relations department or the responsible supervisor. * Follow up on all reported disabilities due to common illness, maternity, or work-related risks, as well as subsidies granted for maternity and general illness, maintaining proper control over these processes. * Comply with payroll process controls aligned with SOX requirements. * Report any issues or changes in payroll to supervision. * Respond to employee inquiries regarding salaries and taxes. * Assist external auditors during audit procedures by providing payroll information and analysis. PROCESSES AND CONTROLS* Compliance with labor, social security, tax collection laws, and country-specific regulations. * Compliance with company policies. * Adherence to established controls for each area and ensuring consistency. * Compliance with SOX process standards and internal controls. Job Qualifications: ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Education: * Certified Public Accountant degree or related field Experience: * 2 years of experience in payroll processing. Knowledge:* Knowledge of state and regional tax and payroll regulations. * Practical experience with payroll software (such as SAP, Meta 4, Nomipack, Fortia, Practisoft, Giro, etc.) * Practical experience with timekeeping platforms (such as Oracle, Kronos, eTime, Time\&Labor, Eslabón, others) * Familiarity using Excel and spreadsheets.
