




· The Rig Electrician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and field repair of all electrical equipment on the platform, logistics equipment, and camp in accordance with Nabors’ Rig Management System (RMS). EQD engineer or technician with 3 years of onboard experience operating this type of offshore drilling, completion, and workover equipment; 1 year must be in the position, verifiable via an HR-issued employment letter. · Ensure all electrical equipment operations are conducted safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications. · Maintain all electrical equipment on the platform and camp in accordance with Nabors’ Planned Maintenance System and manufacturer specifications. · Perform unscheduled electrical equipment repairs at the platform site and camp. · Coordinate with the Rig Manager, Driller, and Rig Mechanic to schedule major drilling equipment inspections. · Ensure availability of appropriate electrical equipment spare parts through the inventory system, both for routine maintenance and to cover unscheduled maintenance or replacements. · Personally responsible for one’s own safety and compliant with Nabors’ standards and procedures. · Carry out all tasks in the safest possible manner and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). · Personally assume responsibility for, and demonstrate leadership in, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Play a prominent role in safety meetings and the safety program. · Supervise Rig Welder and Motorman activities. · Implement the planned maintenance program for platform and camp electrical equipment and instrumentation. · Work with the Driller and other crew members to ensure drilling equipment operates according to design parameters and in full compliance with all aspects of Nabors’ RMS. · Conduct visual and, where feasible, functional inspections of equipment prior to use, at periodic intervals, and especially after equipment has been relocated and reassembled. · Assume responsibility for planned maintenance, certification, record keeping, and reporting. · Maintain all required records, documentation, and certification for electrical equipment on the platform and camp, and produce accurate and timely reports on such equipment usage. · Maintain and update all electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. · Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are fully implemented at the platform site and campsite. · Supervise disassembly, packaging, and preparation of electrical equipment for platform moves, including reassembly at new locations. · Establish a culture of continuous improvement in operations and demonstrate results in this regard. Collaborate with other platform team members to develop improved practices that positively impact platform performance. · Jointly maintain, with the Rig Mechanic, all drilling equipment instrumentation. · Jointly manage, with the Storekeeper, the inventory of spare parts and components for electrical equipment, and initiate material requisitions and transfers as needed. · Maintain cleanliness of the SCR house and integrity of the electrical control equipment housed therein. · Make recommendations for improved practices. · Prepare the platform and camp equipment for stacking, when required, per RMS provisions, and contribute to the stacking report preparation. · Make provisions ensuring electrical supplies and instrumentation meet third-party service company requirements at the platform location, and provide emergency repairs to their equipment whenever possible. · Provide on-the-job training to Electrical Assistants. · Maintain validity of personal certification and training, as well as those of any direct reports. · Ensure understanding and compliance with Nabors’ Permit-to-Work system. · Supervise operation and servicing of power generation equipment, i.e., generator and engine controls, SCR systems, switchgear, transformers, power distribution, etc. · Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of general drilling equipment systems, such as HVAC, refrigeration plants, power supply and communication systems, etc. · Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components of drilling equipment, i.e., DC and auxiliary drilling motors, Top Drive System, mud pumps, etc. · Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems, including dynamic positioning, communication, data acquisition, computers, and navigation equipment. · Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems, including but not limited to BOP controls and instrumentation and electronics within drilling packages. · Implement outstanding audit recommendations issued by Clients, Regulatory Authorities, or Platform Management. · Ensure equipment repair and maintenance reports are accurate and complete. · Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in providing information for the maintenance and repair budget. · Ensure an adequate supply of spare parts is maintained onboard to meet maintenance requirements and facilitate safe and efficient operations. · Lead by example in compliance with all Nabors safety policies and standards. · Know and understand Nabors’ integrated QHSE policy, as well as other policies related to the management system, and identify the application of these policies within one’s area of work. · Actively participate in the Occupational Health Program, including the Occupational Health Program and the Company’s Annual Medical Examination Plan.
