Analyze failures and propose solutions for continuous improvement Job Purpose At Mexipack, we seek a person passionate about machining and industrial maintenance who understands that their work is critical to keeping our machines running without interruption. Your mission will be to ensure plant equipment availability by fabricating and repairing components with precision, preventing unexpected downtime and directly contributing to operational productivity and safety. You will be the technical heart that keeps the production rhythm alive. Key Responsibilities (Easy to Understand) Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety rules. Keep the machinery and tooling area clean, organized, and in optimal condition. Operate and maintain equipment such as conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding equipment. Read and interpret technical drawings to fabricate or repair parts to exact specifications. Request required materials in a timely manner to perform your work. Maintain an inventory control system for consumables and spare parts. Help improve processes so machines fail less and production remains uninterrupted. Record daily activities in the system and report tasks completed per shift. Calculate costs of completed work (with support from a rate table). Analyze why a machine failed and propose practical solutions. Support warehouse inventories and prevent waste of materials, energy, and tools. Attend training sessions and work overtime when necessary. Requirements We Seek Education: Technical Superior University Degree (T.S.U.) in Maintenance, Production Processes, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. Experience: At least 1 year in a similar position (if internal, we will train you). Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Understanding of mechanical tolerances and material specifications. Diagnosis of equipment failures (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic). Operation of lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding equipment. Experience as a toolmaker turner; operation of conventional lathes (mandatory); fabrication and fitting of mechanical parts; interpretation of technical drawings; use of measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, comparator); knowledge of tolerances and fits; responsible, detail-oriented, and committed. Basic Office skills.
