Drive quality and continuous improvement in defect prevention Defect Coordinator Coordinador de Defectos As a Quality Engineering Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our team, meticulously testing software products to ensure they meet the highest standards. The **Defect Coordinator** is responsible for end‑to‑end defect management across the testing lifecycle. This role ensures defects are logged accurately, triaged efficiently, tracked to closure, and communicated effectively to all stakeholders. The Defect Coordinator acts as the central point of contact between QA/Users, development, business and release teams to maintain defect quality and accelerate resolution. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Defect Governance \& Process Management** + Manage the complete defect lifecycle: Assign the defects to right groups, triage, tracking, and closure. + Ensure teams follow defect management standards, severity/priority definitions, and SLA timelines. + Perform daily defect reviews and coordinate triage meetings. + Verify defect data quality—clear descriptions, steps to reproduce, logs, screenshots, and environment details. * **Cross****‑****Functional Coordination** * Serve as the liaison between Testers, Users, Functional Teams, CoE Teams and all other Business teams. * Drive timely defect resolution by escalating blockers and SLA breaches. * Communicate defect impacts to release plans, test execution, and go‑live readiness. * Facilitate Functional and Resolver Groups DSUs with active defect details, bridge between the teams for quick closure of the defects. * **Reporting \& Metrics** * Publish daily/weekly defect dashboards (open defects, aging, priority, blockers, and other trends). * Highlight risk areas, recurring issues, and patterns across cycles. * Provide defect‑related input for go/no‑go decisions. * **Quality \& Continuous Improvement** * Identify process gaps and recommend improvements in defect prevention * Support RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and contribute to quality maturity improvement. **Required Skills \& Competencies:** * **Technical Skills** * Hands‑on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Bugzilla). * Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes. * Good knowledge of test cycles, environments, build processes, and release management. * Ability to analyze logs, screenshots, and issue traces. * **Soft Skills** * Excellent communication and stakeholder management. * Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. * Ability to work under pressure with strict timelines. * Attention to detail and high ownership. * **Experience \& Qualifications** * 3–8 years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Coordination / Defect Management. * Experience coordinating defects in Agile or Waterfall projects.
