Our Optical Communications segment has just evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware, and equipment into an industry-leading, end-to-end provider of optical solutions—spanning the broader communications industry. This segment is divided into two primary product groups: Carrier Networks and Enterprise Networks. The Carrier Networks product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical fiber communication infrastructure supporting video, data, and voice services. The Enterprise Networks product group consists primarily of optical fiber communication networks targeted at businesses, governments, and individuals for private use. **Position Purpose** ------------------------ Responsible for supporting the deployment of activities required for continuous improvement in production areas. Support Engineering/Lean Manufacturing projects (line balancing, layout design, cost reduction projects). **Responsibilities** --------------------- * Coordinate and participate in 5S audits * Train and coach new hires on 5S/Kaizen * Conduct time studies and line balancing * Act as a change leader and actively participate in implementing improvements * Lead improvement events and coordinate cross-functional teams to enhance production processes * Develop process maps * Analyze processes, reduce and eliminate waste * Coordinate continuous improvement events **Education** ------------- Technical degree **Additional Skills** --------------------------- * Computer skills * Knowledge of Industrial Engineering (Time Tracking, Lean Waste) * AUTOCAD * Visio / eVSM * Familiarity with DMAIC methodology A job that transforms a life.
