Description
Responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing nesting programs to maximize sheet and material utilization in manufacturing processes, minimizing waste and production costs. Ensures accurate cutting programming using specialized software while maintaining high standards of efficiency, quality, and productivity.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Generate and optimize nesting programs to maximize raw material utilization.
* Verify program execution on machines.
* Analyze designs, drawings, and production requirements to determine optimal cutting layouts.
* Minimize sheet and material waste through continuous optimization strategies.
* Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Planning departments to ensure adherence to priorities and delivery timelines.
* Monitor material utilization metrics and propose process improvements.
* Maintain up-to-date databases of materials, thicknesses, and cutting configurations.
* Validate that programs are compatible with CNC, laser, plasma, or punching machinery as applicable.
* Track incidents related to waste, programming errors, or production deviations.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
* Maintain effective communication with local and international teams when required.
**Position Profile**
Education: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience: Experience in manufacturing processes and material optimization.
Knowledge of nesting programming and operation of specialized software.
Experience working with metal sheets and CNC cutting processes is desirable.
**Technical Knowledge**
* Proficiency in nesting software and CAD/CAM programs.
* Knowledge of technical drawing and blueprint interpretation.
* Proficiency in computer tools and Microsoft Office suite.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and waste control.
* Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
* Intermediate\-advanced English (bilingual preferred).
