Position overview: We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Java) with strong experience designing and evolving backend systems in distributed environments. This role requires technical judgment, proactive problem solving, and the ability to influence architecture and engineering practices. * Responsibilities: Design, develop, and evolve backend services and APIs at scale. * Lead the design of REST and/or GraphQL APIs with high reliability. * Own complex business logic ensuring correctness and consistency. * Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design reviews. * Ensure high code quality through testing strategies and code reviews. * Guide CI/CD, deployment, and operational practices with infrastructure teams. * Deploy and operate services in cloud environments with focus on resilience. * Proactively monitor systems and lead incident resolution when required. * Promote best practices in observability, security, and reliability. * Mentor team members and share technical knowledge. * Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement. * Requirements: Strong experience with Java backend development. * Advanced API design (REST/GraphQL). * Solid database engineering skills (SQL/NoSQL, performance, migrations). * Experience with event\-driven architectures (Kafka, queues, pub/sub). * Proven experience designing self\-healing and resilient systems. * Strong testing background (unit, integration, contract testing). * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments. * Experience working in Agile environments. * Technical leadership by example. * High autonomy and ownership. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Clear communication and cross\-team collaboration. * Fluency in Spanish.
