***GENERAL OBJECTIVE:*** Develop, optimize, and ensure the stability of injection molding processes, guaranteeing efficient operations, high quality in plastic components, and compliance with automotive standards, driving continuous improvement and providing technical support to production personnel. ***FUNCTIONS:*** * Design and implement injection molding processes using scientific molding principles. * Optimize part and mold designs to improve manufacturability, cycle times, and performance. * Conduct tests, validations, and capability studies to ensure robust processes. * Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans for molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment. * Collaborate with maintenance teams to reduce downtime and extend tool life. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements, upgrades, or replacements. * Drive efficiency improvements through Lean, SMED, and Kaizen initiatives. * Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Maintain up-to-date process documentation, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. * Supervise molding technicians and provide technical training. Ensure compliance with optimized parameters and established quality standards. * Update and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Quality Core Tools. * Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards. ***Requirements: Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:*** * Update and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Quality Core Tools. * Design and implement injection molding processes using scientific molding principles. * Solid knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, polymers, and peripheral equipment. * Experience with preventive maintenance systems and TPM principles. * Familiarity with scientific molding methodology and continuous improvement tools. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Minitab or similar statistical software is desirable. * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in injection molding processes (automotive experience preferred).
