Amazon's Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is essential to our operations: they are the ones who keep critical machinery running at all times. As an RME technician, you will maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while adhering to the highest health and safety standards. You will help keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME technicians increase the availability and quality of our equipment and also work to improve the operational environment. Key job responsibilities * Perform proactive and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide range of construction equipment. * Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnostics in an operating distribution center. * Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness. * Maintain all health and safety policies and practices. * Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices. * Work on continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across multiple sites in Mexico. A day in the life Our RME technicians are onsite so they can quickly respond to any machinery issues. You will perform a series of planned preventive maintenance tasks on equipment at our sites to ensure they operate safely. As an RME technician, you will also promptly respond to breakdowns by investigating, identifying, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You will also make suggestions for long-term improvements. Working alongside more experienced colleagues, you will carry out daily maintenance tasks and communicate with contractors when external expertise is needed. You may work various shifts to ensure our sites have 24/7 support, enabling Amazon to deliver at the speed we are known for. About the team Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps our equipment running at peak performance. We are a technically minded team made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of distribution centers. Some of our employees are leaders who supervise teams while working on interesting technologies, some of which exist only at Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general website site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most of the technical aspects of Amazon. This includes ensuring buildings comply with regulations, confirming everyone’s safety, and making sure our sites operate with maximum efficiency. We work to reduce downtime at Amazon’s critical operation sites so customers receive their orders on time. If we identify a better way to do something, we have the skills and opportunity to develop and introduce entirely new processes or cutting-edge technologies. \#AmazonMexico**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS** ------------------------ * Experience with preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance systems * Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance tasks * Experience troubleshooting material handling equipment (MHE) conveyor systems and automation * Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/work areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays * Completed high school education or equivalent diploma * Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- * Fluency in English. * 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. * 2+ years of experience performing predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. * Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards according to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and safety standards.
