Through Rouxbe's online platform and culinary training program, Marriott associates with all levels of culinary experience will have access to hundreds of well-designed and visually appealing lessons they can immediately apply to their jobs. Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate oven, broiler, and grill temperatures. Remove food from freezer to thaw in refrigerator. Ensure proper portioning, plating, and garnishing of food. Maintain food records. Monitor quality and quantity of food prepared. Communicate any needed assistance during peak work periods. Inform head chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform Food and Beverage service staff of rejected items and special dishes available on the menu. Ensure quality of food products. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold dishes. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and obtain certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate guests' service needs and respond appropriately. Speak clearly and professionally with others. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to other employees' concerns. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, turning, and crouching. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: Diploma from a technical, trade, or vocational school. Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
