Job Description
The Laboratory Assistant serves as the company’s first quality filter. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that all raw materials delivered via tank trucks and all finished products meet technical specifications through precise sampling and basic physicochemical analyses.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipe Sampling: Collect liquid product samples (oils, acids, or chemicals) directly from hatches or valves on transport units (tank trucks and tanks).
- Laboratory Analysis: Perform basic physicochemical tests (pH, density, viscosity, moisture, color) to validate product quality.
- Documentation Control: Complete inbound logs, label samples, and generate technical reports for unit release or rejection.
- Unit Inspection: Verify cleanliness and security seals on tank trucks before and after loading/unloading.
- Safety and Hygiene: Strictly apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols for handling chemical substances.
Profile Requirements
Education: Chemical Technician, Food Technician, Technological High School Diploma, or a related technical degree.
Experience: 1–2 years in industrial laboratories, food plants, or quality control departments.
Knowledge:
- Proficiency with basic laboratory equipment (pH meters, balances, densimeters).
- Basic understanding of pumping systems and valves for sampling.
- Preferred: Familiarity with NOM-059 regulation or food-grade standards.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform work at heights (climbing onto tank trucks using safety equipment).
