




PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMIST * Enforces regulations and procedures regarding storage, preservation, distribution, and dispensing of pharmaceutical products, and supervises appropriate handling across all hospital services. * Manages inspections conducted by health authorities. * Verifies and supervises pharmacy support staff in the correct dispensing of medications and supplies. * Reports adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to COFEPRIS. * Attends training courses designated by the hospital. * Performs all functions inherent to the scope of expertise in this area. * Monitors the pharmacotherapeutic profiles of hospitalized patients. * Identifies and resolves medication-related issues, including: o Drug-drug interactions. o Drug-food interactions. o Appropriate dosing for each patient type. o Recommendations for suitable treatments based on diagnosed pathologies. o Medication reconciliation. o Reporting of adverse drug reactions. * Provides pharmaceutical care. * Reviews and validates prescriptions issued by attending physicians for each patient. * Conducts prescription reconciliation and assesses medical prescription appropriateness. * Informs nursing staff about risks of interactions or incompatibilities and necessary follow-up measures. * Inspects the medication storage area within patient care units. * Educates and trains healthcare professionals and patients on matters related to the Medication System. * Supervises assigned personnel.
