




· Responsible for inspection, field maintenance, and repair of all machinery and mechanical equipment on the rig, logistics equipment, and camp in accordance with Nabors’ Rig Management System (RMS). EQD Engineer or technician with 3 years’ offshore experience operating this type of marine drilling, completion, and workover equipment; 1 year must be in this position, verifiable via an employment letter from HR. · Ensure all machinery and mechanical equipment operations are conducted safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications. · Maintain all machinery and mechanical equipment on the drilling rig and camp in accordance with Nabors’ Planned Maintenance System and manufacturer specifications. · Perform unscheduled repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment at the rig site and camp. · Coordinate with the Rig Manager, Driller, and Electrician to schedule major rig equipment inspections. · Ensure appropriate spare parts for mechanical equipment are available through the inventory system, both for routine maintenance and to cover unscheduled maintenance or replacements. · Ensure all fuels, lubricants, gases, paints, and any hazardous materials are stored and handled properly at the rig site and campsite. · Personally responsible for one’s own safety and for conducting oneself in accordance with Nabors’ standards and procedures. · Carry out all tasks as safely as possible and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). · Assume personal responsibility for, and demonstrate leadership in, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Play a prominent role in safety meetings and the safety program. · Supervise the Rig Welder’s activities. · Implement the Planned Maintenance Program for drilling machinery and mechanical equipment, including mobile equipment. · Work with the Driller and other crew members to ensure the rig operates within design parameters and in full compliance with all aspects of Nabors’ RMS. · Conduct visual and, where feasible, functional inspections of equipment both prior to use and at periodic intervals. · Assume responsibility for planned maintenance, certification, recordkeeping, and reporting. · Maintain all required records, documentation, and certification for machinery, mechanical equipment, and fire-fighting equipment used on rigs and at camps, and produce accurate and timely reports on the use of such equipment. · Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are fully implemented at the rig site and campsite. · Maintain and update all rig and camp drawings and diagrams. · Supervise the dismantling, packaging, and preparation of mechanical equipment for rig moves, including reassembly at new locations. · Establish a culture of continuous improvement in operations and demonstrate tangible results in this regard. · Collaborate with other rig team members to develop improved practices that positively impact rig performance. · Regularly inspect and maintain certification of all lifting and handling equipment at the rig site. · Manage, together with the Storekeeper, the inventory of spare parts and components for mechanical equipment, and initiate material requisitions and material transfers as required. · Conduct routine maintenance and scheduled inspections of primary rig engines, and make recommendations for improved practices. · Prepare the rig and camp equipment for stacking, when required, in accordance with RMS provisions, and contribute to preparation of the stacking report. · Make provisions to ensure utilities (air, water, fuel, etc.) meet third-party service company requirements at the rig site, and provide emergency repairs to their equipment whenever possible. · Provide on-the-job training to the Welder and Mechanical Assistants. · Maintain validity of personal certification and joint training for the Rig Welder. · Ensure understanding and compliance with Nabors’ Permit-to-Work system. · Support Nabors’ HSE objective of preventing injuries, accidents, and environmental damage related to all mechanical processes, procedures, and policies. · Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. · Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and special projects as directed. · Lead by example in complying with all safety policies and Nabors’ standards. · Know and understand Nabors’ integrated QHSE policy, as well as other policies related to the management system, and identify the application of those policies within one’s area of work.
