




**Main Responsibilities:** **Worksite Preparation:** * Assist in inspecting and evaluating the worksite. * Prepare the work area, ensuring it is clean and organized. * Transport and organize the tools and materials required for splicing work. **Handling Fiber Optic Cables:** * Assist in stripping and cleaning fiber optic cables. * Organize and label fiber optic cables as needed. * Assist in placing cables into trays and distribution panels. **Support in Fiber Optic Splicing:** * Prepare optical fibers for splicing, ensuring they are ready for the splicer. * Hold and manipulate fibers during the splicing process under the supervision of the splicer. * Apply splice protectors and assist in securing their proper placement. **Testing and Measurements:** * Assist in performing optical loss and reflectometry tests (OTDR). * Document and organize test results under the direction of the splicer. * Help inspect connectors and splice points using a microscope. **Maintenance and Repair:** * Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on the fiber optic network. * Help identify and repair faults in the fiber optic network. * Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition. **Material and Tool Management:** * Monitor inventory of materials and tools, ensuring everything is available for the splicer. * Request and replenish materials and tools as needed. * Keep tools clean and well-maintained. **Workplace Safety:** * Follow all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents. * Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the splicer or supervisor.
