The Development Tools Software Engineer leads the creation, implementation, and optimization of software tools that support a wide range of engineering domains, including design, manufacturing, validation, silicon production, systems integration, software application development, and ecosystem enablement. In this role, you will use modern software development methodologies, programming languages, domain expertise, and secure coding practices to design, develop, debug, and validate algorithms, software tools, and systems that empower internal and external engineering partners. These solutions help enable the design and manufacturing of Intel silicon, as well as the integration of Intel hardware and software into impactful products across the industry. You will work on tools and systems such as debuggers, analyzers, SDKs, IDEs, PDKs, performance monitors, software libraries, and development flows/methodologies that support engineering efforts across design, manufacturing, validation, and test. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead the design, development, and optimization of software tools used across design, manufacturing, validation, and silicon development environments. * Develop and maintain algorithms, software systems, and engineering tools using modern programming languages and secure coding practices. * Collaborate with cross ‑ functional engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver robust, reliable, and scalable tools. * Debug, validate, and continuously improve software tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and integration workflows across internal/external partners. * Contribute to tool architectures, development flows, documentation, and methodologies that support Intel’s engineering lifecycle. **Behavioral Traits** * Problem ‑ Solving Mindset: Approaches complex technical challenges with curiosity, creativity, and structured analytical thinking. * Collaboration Skills: Works effectively with cross ‑ functional engineering teams, seeks input from partners, and communicates clearly in both technical and non ‑ technical contexts. * Adaptability and Learning Agility: Quickly learns new tools, technologies, and methodologies; comfortable working in evolving development environments. * Attention to Detail: Delivers high ‑ quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions with a focus on robustness, validation, and secure coding practices. * Results ‑ Oriented: Prioritizes effectively, manages time well, and drives solutions to completion in a fast ‑ paced engineering environment. * Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Looks for opportunities to optimize tools, simplify workflows, and introduce new methodologies that enhance engineering efficiency. **Qualifications:** ------------------- Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. **Minimum Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with at least 10 years additional experience * 2 years of experience in: + Modern programming languages (e.g., C/C\+\+, Python). + Software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures. + Secure coding practices and modern software development methodologies. * Advanced English level. * Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship). **Preferred Qualifications:** * Knowledge of debug practices * Capable of navigating and debugging RTL.
