Multidisciplinary coordination for mining operations **Ventilation Engineer – Underground Mine** **Position Objective** Design, supervise, and optimize the underground mine ventilation system to ensure adequate supply of fresh air, control of gases and contaminants, and compliance with applicable regulations, thereby contributing to personnel safety and operational continuity. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop and update short- and medium-term ventilation plans aligned with the mining plan. * Calculate and balance airflow volumes, pressures, and ventilation networks. * Supervise operation of main and auxiliary fans, ducts, and regulators. * Monitor air quality (gases, dust, diesel emissions, temperature, and humidity). * Coordinate periodic measurements at active faces and critical areas. * Identify and mitigate risks associated with inadequate ventilation. * Participate in emergency response plans related to ventilation. * Coordinate activities with Operations, Planning, Geology, and Safety departments. * Prepare technical performance reports for the ventilation system. * Ensure compliance with current regulations applicable to underground mining. **Requirements** **Education** * Degree in Mining, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field. * Specialization or diploma in Mining Ventilation. **Experience** * Minimum 3–5 years of experience in underground mining. * Experience in primary and secondary ventilation. **Technical Knowledge** * Calculation and balancing of ventilation networks. * Control of gases and contaminants in underground mines. * Operation of main and auxiliary fans. * Applicable mining safety regulations. * Proficiency with specialized software (e.g., Ventsim, Deswik Ventilation, or similar). **Skills** * Technical analysis and problem solving. * Decision making. * Multidisciplinary teamwork. * Effective communication. * Strong safety orientation. **Benefits:** Competitive salary.
