Position overview: We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer and Team Lead who will contribute to a platform modernization initiative. This person will guide the migration of a legacy system built with PHP and Yii 1 to a modern architecture based on Node.js and React. The role combines hands on development with technical leadership, architectural decision making, and close collaboration with distributed engineering teams. * Responsibilities: Lead the migration of a legacy PHP and Yii 1 platform to Node.js and React * Define and communicate the target architecture for the modernized platform * Guide the engineering team through the migration process and technical decisions * Analyze the existing PHP and Yii 1 codebase and define migration strategies * Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js * Support the design and development of frontend components with React * Build and maintain integrations with external platforms and services * Collaborate with product managers, architects, and quality assurance teams * Promote code quality, system performance, and reliability through best practices * Mentor developers, provide technical guidance, and support skills development * Contribute to the improvement of development workflows and delivery processes * Requirements: Strong commercial experience working with Node.js * Solid experience developing user interfaces with React * Strong experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL * Experience leading engineering teams or acting as a technical lead * Experience working with legacy system migrations * Understanding of backend architecture and API design * Experience using AI assisted development tools such as Cursor or similar * Experience working with version control using Git and collaborative workflows * Ability to work with distributed teams and communicate clearly in a remote setup * Nice to have: Experience working with PHP in production environments * Experience with the Yii 1 framework * Experience migrating monolithic applications to more modular solutions * Experience designing microservices or modular architectures * Experience working with CI and CD tools and modern delivery pipelines
