Technical leadership in AI and Hardware. **Edge AI Model Optimization Software Engineer** **Job Description** * NXP is seeking a hands-on engineer to work on optimizing cutting-edge artificial intelligence—including generative AI, Transformers, Visual Language Models (VLMs), and agentic AI systems. * The role focuses on optimization technology engineering—specifically neural network quantization—to run models efficiently on next-generation edge platforms such as Ara 2\. **Key Responsibilities** * **Tool Development:** Design and implement optimization tools, including mixed-precision flows and scalable quantization pipelines (PTQ and QAT). * **Applied Innovation:** Evaluate novel quantization techniques and build tools to transition experiments into production environments. * **Technical Rigor:** Apply mathematical foundations to implement approximation algorithms, ensuring bit\-by\-bit accuracy on hardware. * **Performance and Leadership:** Optimize the toolchain to meet memory and compute constraints, serving as the technical liaison between AI and Hardware teams. **Required Profile** * **Education:** MSc or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, with specialization in Machine Learning or Deep Learning. * **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Python, C/C\+\+, PyTorch, and ONNX. * **Experience:** Knowledge of CNN architectures, generative AI, and quantization workflows. * **Preferences:** Experience with hardware accelerators, embedded systems, compilers (MLIR or TVM), and advanced techniques such as GPTQ or SmoothQuant. * **Language:** Fluency in English (written and spoken). **Benefits** * Work in an innovative and collaborative environment that fosters professional growth, offering competitive salary and benefits.
