Core Role Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Global Controller to oversee the company’s global accounting operations and financial control environment across the United States, Mexico, and Europe (Netherlands). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with applicable international regulations, and building scalable accounting processes to support a rapidly growing international supply chain business. You will work cross-functionally with operations, logistics, procurement, sales, and executive leadership to improve financial visibility, accountability, and reporting accuracy across all legal entities. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $90,000 MXN per month. Job Type: Full-time. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of multinational financial statements. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across all legal entities. Review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Consolidate multinational and multi-currency financial statements. Maintain and update corporate accounting policies and procedures. Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP and applicable international accounting standards. 2. Internal Controls & Financial Accuracy Design, implement, and maintain strong internal accounting controls. Establish clear approval workflows and proper segregation of duties. Monitor financial risk areas including inventory, AP, AR, FX, and intercompany balances. Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation, landed cost allocations, and COGS. Develop robust reconciliation procedures for: inventory, bank accounts, intercompany accounts, duties and tariffs, freight accruals, and customer rebates/claims. Lead periodic internal audits and control reviews. 3. International & Multi-Entity Accounting Manage accounting operations across US, Mexico, and Netherlands entities. Oversee intercompany accounting and transfer pricing coordination. Coordinate foreign currency accounting and FX exposure reporting. Ensure local compliance with tax, statutory, and reporting obligations in all operating countries. Coordinate with international accounting firms, tax advisors, and external auditors. Support cross-border cash management and maintain global treasury visibility. 4. Inventory, Trade & Supply Chain Finance Oversee complex inventory accounting across multiple third-party warehouses and countries. Ensure proper landed cost capitalization, including freight, tariffs, customs, storage, and inspection costs. Monitor inventory aging, obsolescence reserves, and shrinkage. Partner with operations and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy and tracking. Review import/export documentation processes impacting accounting and compliance. 5. Audit, Tax & Compliance Coordinate annual financial audits and tax filings across all jurisdictions. Support customs, trade, and regulatory audits as needed. Ensure compliance with banking covenants and lender reporting requirements. Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting transfer pricing and intercompany transactions. Coordinate sales tax, VAT, and international indirect tax compliance. Support documentation and controls related to organic and Fairtrade certification audits where financial traceability is required. 6. Reporting & Process Improvement Develop automated KPI dashboards and operational financial reporting. Improve reporting visibility and data granularity by customer, SKU, origin, and margin. Lead ERP and accounting system optimization initiatives. Identify automation opportunities and eliminate process inefficiencies. Build a scalable accounting infrastructure to support aggressive international growth. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or Master’s degree is highly preferred. Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager within an international supply chain, logistics, trade, or manufacturing environment. Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in US GAAP and international accounting standards. Solid understanding of multi-currency consolidation, transfer pricing, and international tax regulations (US, Mexico, Europe). Languages: 100% Fluent in English and Spanish (Bilingual). Exceptional communication skills are required, as you will interact daily with executives, stakeholders, and advisors across different global regions. Systems: Advanced proficiency in global ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Excel. Experience leading an ERP implementation or optimization is a major plus.
