**GRADUATE ACADEMIC INSTRUCTOR (SERVICE CONTRACT)** **Objective:** To have academic instructors with training and experience in the Maritime-Port field who can teach graduate-level courses in an online format, ensuring academic quality, disciplinary updates, and professional relevance of the programs offered by the Universidad Marítima y Portuaria de México (UMPM), in accordance with current regulatory and educational frameworks. **Academic level:** * Preferably, a Master's degree or Captain of High Seas with proven experience in the relevant area. **Required experience:** * Proven professional experience in the maritime, port, shipping, or logistics sectors. * Desirable experience in designing, planning, or teaching undergraduate or graduate-level courses, preferably in an online format. * Up-to-date knowledge in their specialty area and the ability to connect theory with professional practice. * Proficiency in using educational platforms (Moodle or other LMS) and technological tools applied to teaching. * Desirable knowledge of international conventions and codes (SOLAS, MARPOL, PBIP, STCW, among others) applicable to the maritime sector. * Desirable: teaching or technical instruction experience in educational or training institutions within the maritime sector. **Activities to be performed:** * **Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved Study Plans and Programs for the Master's degrees offered by UMPM**, with a maritime-port and logistics focus, maintaining a continuous research attitude in their areas of expertise. * Develop advance course planning, including methodology and teaching resources, based on the established study program. * Prepare and deliver required documents for course development, such as the Activity Schedule and Academic Plan of the course, prior to the start of the course. * Submit complete grade reports within no more than 5 business days after the course ends. * Upload the established instructional plan to the educational platform, registering content, objectives, scope, course development, and assigned activities throughout the course. * Develop and propose research activities within the courses to promote academic research among participants and academic instructors. * Support updating course content included in the master's program, considering indicators and needs from the maritime-port sector. * Demonstrate ongoing updates in professional competence through participation in courses, workshops, certification programs, working groups, forums, symposia, among others. * Design, administer, and review assessments as tools for monitoring participants' learning processes. * Promote the development of communication, leadership, teamwork, and other key skills among participants. * Use established technological tools for delivering assigned courses according to UMPM guidelines and standards. * Monitor and provide feedback to participants, offering timely academic support and solutions. * Promptly inform the Graduate Studies department about any issues related to participants' academic performance. * Address observations made by the Graduate Studies department regarding performance, derived from applied teaching evaluations. * Conduct and develop asynchronous distance classes for academic materials of the courses, ensuring pedagogical and technical quality. * Create and record informative videos and/or tutorials for course development, ensuring their quality and alignment with program content. * Attend required training sessions provided by the Graduate Studies department to strengthen teaching practices. * Perform any necessary activities or functions related to the profile category that are assigned due to service requirements by UMPM. * And any other activities expressly assigned inherent to their services through the Escuela Náutica Mercante “Cap. Alt.
