Apply now for the position: LNG Mechanical Engineering Lead **Objective** The Mechanical Lead is responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and optimal performance of all mechanical systems and equipment at the LNG terminal, including large-scale rotating machinery, cryogenic pumps, heat exchangers, and piping systems. Provides technical leadership during installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with international standards and supporting operational continuity for both regasification and future liquefaction operations. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead technical supervision of all **mechanical equipment** at the plant: + Compressors + Cryogenic pumps + Heat exchangers + Piping and valve systems + Critical rotating machinery * Ensure **mechanical integrity** through inspections, failure analysis, design reviews, and compliance with ASME, API, and ANSI standards. * Provide technical support during **installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up**, collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and contractor teams. * Diagnose and resolve complex performance, vibration, reliability, or integrity issues related to mechanical equipment. * Participate in **reliability initiatives**, including RCA, RCM, criticality analysis, and maintenance optimization. * Ensure mechanical modifications comply with **Management of Change (MOC)** processes and process safety standards. * Review and approve technical documentation: specifications, drawings, procedures, inspection reports, and OEM manuals. * Coordinate with operations to ensure availability and performance of critical equipment during regasification and liquefaction. * Support internal and external audits related to mechanical integrity and regulatory compliance. * Maintain effective communication with suppliers, manufacturers, and external specialists to ensure appropriate technical solutions. **Experience** * Prior experience in mechanical engineering within energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, or LNG industries. * Direct experience with **LNG technology**, both in regasification and liquefaction, is desirable. * Experience working with **operations and commissioning teams**. * Familiarity with key equipment: + Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors + Cryogenic pumps + Heat exchangers + High-pressure piping systems + Reliability and process safety systems **Technical Knowledge** * Proficiency in international standards: **ASME, API, ANSI**. * Knowledge of vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, and rotating machinery diagnostics. * Understanding of cryogenic systems and equipment operating under low temperatures and high pressures. * Knowledge of reliability methodologies (RCA, RCM). * Familiarity with process safety systems and their interaction with mechanical equipment. **Apply now** and join the great team at **Sempra Infrastructure**!
