Ensures product safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process. **Job Description** ------------------------- Supervise shift activities by monitoring and analyzing information from various process areas and maintenance activities, ensuring efficient compliance with instructions, proper equipment operation and maintenance, and establishing priorities for addressing breakdowns or incidents through appropriate resource allocation and effective coordination of shift personnel—thereby guaranteeing products meet specifications in quantity, quality, and cost, while promoting a harmonious and safe work environment. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Supervise field shift activities: equipment inspections, safety, housekeeping, special operations, machine startup and shutdown. * Coordinate activities to resolve breakdowns or incidents and prepare reports on operating conditions, production output, and existing inventory. * Analyze main equipment parameters at the control panel (COP), correlate them with field observations, and ensure continuous, stable, and safe equipment operation. * Conduct effective shift handover, reporting equipment operating conditions (e.g., kilns, mills, etc.) and product quality. * Verify that equipment startup conditions are safe and maintain stable operation without exceeding equipment capacity. * Minimize environmental impacts associated with operations and processes. **Job Challenges** -------------------- * Effectively diagnose equipment operating conditions by correlating parameters and behaviors to improve preventive and predictive decision-making. * Coordinate production personnel under supervision and maintenance staff during the shift (in absence of maintenance supervisors). * Prevent unauthorized access to the control panel and maintain discipline within the control room and work areas. * Suspend any activity not performed according to established procedures. * Request cleaning or removal of spills or hazardous solid waste from any plant area. **Required Skills and Knowledge** ------------------------------------------ Education: * High school diploma * Completed technical degree Required Experience: * Operations—Cement * Plant Operations Required Knowledge: * Cement manufacturing process: theoretical or practical * Process control * Personnel management * Proficiency in Microsoft Office * Process book, PIWEB * Analysis of relative trends and variable relationships Critical Competencies: * Possess operational, safety, and maintenance knowledge of equipment and processes, as well as fundamental product quality principles. * Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously. * High level of concentration and commitment. * Leadership skills to manage a team. * Analytical ability to interpret large volumes of variables and situational data. **Relationships** -------------- Internal: * Unionized technicians * Plant staff External: * Suppliers * Contractors **Diversity and Inclusion at CEMEX** ----------------------------------- At CEMEX, we recognize the diversity of the world in which we live and conduct business.
