Research and evaluation of emerging technologies in AI and data JOB MISSION At Universidad Anáhuac Mayab, we are seeking a professional to help transform institutional needs into intelligent solutions through software development and Artificial Intelligence models, contributing to innovation, operational efficiency, and value generation via the strategic use of technology. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop software solutions incorporating Artificial Intelligence components using programming languages, specialized frameworks, and agile methodologies to efficiently address the institution’s technological requirements. Analyze and translate functional and business requirements into technological solutions by defining software architectures and integrating AI models, ensuring developed tools meet real needs of user departments. Design, train, and implement Artificial Intelligence models using machine learning techniques, data processing, and model validation to generate predictive, automated, and decision-support solutions. Maintain and optimize operational applications and models through continuous monitoring, bug fixes, and performance improvements to ensure solution stability, scalability, and operational continuity. Manage and integrate data sources, ensuring data quality, availability, and appropriate structure to support proper functioning of AI models and developed applications. Develop and integrate APIs and technological services to facilitate interoperability among systems and platforms, ensuring correct implementation of solutions within the institution’s technological ecosystem. Document developed solutions, processes, and implemented models, producing technical and functional manuals to ensure traceability, maintenance, and knowledge transfer. Provide technical support and training to internal users, supporting the implementation of developed solutions to ensure their proper adoption and utilization. Research and evaluate emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence and data analytics, proposing improvements and innovations to strengthen the institution’s technological capabilities and competitiveness. Ensure compliance with quality, security, and software development best practices by applying institutional and technological guidelines to deliver reliable and sustainable solutions. MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL AND FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Development. WORK EXPERIENCE Mandatory – 3 to 5 years of experience in software development using modern technologies Mandatory – 3 to 5 years of experience using development environment tools SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Mandatory – Proficiency in programming languages, databases, and structured query languages Mandatory – Knowledge of methodologies for agile analysis and project development Mandatory – Knowledge of software architecture Mandatory – Proficiency in tools for requirement management and development environments LANGUAGES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION English – Intermediate TRAVEL AVAILABILITY: Occasionally CORE COMPETENCIES Effective communication Creativity and innovation Effectiveness under pressure Risk-taking OTHER REQUIREMENTS Proficiency in Python and experience in Backend development focused on data processing. Experience in Fullstack development and integration, including Frontend frameworks (React, Vue) and consumption of REST APIs. Experience in Generative AI: implementation of LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and use of Vector Databases. Strong knowledge of Machine Learning using the standard ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn). Experience developing chatbots and conversational assistants. Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) and SQL/NoSQL databases. Ability to design Data Pipelines (ETL) and process large volumes of data. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and conduct requirement gathering with non-technical stakeholders. Focus on automation, process optimization, and technical documentation. Proactive attitude toward self-directed learning of new technologies and AI trends.
