Royalty Revenue Analyst Job Description: Position: Royalty Revenue Analyst A bit about our team: We are a global music publishing company, home to a wide array of legendary composers and a rich catalog of contemporary hits and influential standards. The Royalty Processing team operates within Warner Chappell Music, interacting daily with numerous departments (Finance, Legal, and Copyright). With us, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of royalty administration while enjoying yourself and working with some of the most iconic songs ever written. Your role: This position is responsible for a variety of technical royalty tasks, including engagement with national and Canadian collective management societies, foreign affiliates, IT requests, cash book reconciliation, investigation of suspense items, and file submissions. What you’ll do here: * Support royalty reconciliation, payment, and management for Latin America. * Participate in monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual royalty revenue reconciliations. * Analyze and upload data files from local societies and record companies. * Create, input, and oversee file processing for Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and the United States. * Be responsible for specific areas of Royalty Processing and capable of handling inquiries received from various sources—conducting appropriate investigations and responding promptly. * Demonstrate ability to work with and analyze a wide variety of file formats, e.g., Excel, TXT, and DAT files. * Conduct independent research projects related to suspense items and errors. * Be responsible for the efficient administration of royalties belonging to the Americas, maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external partners. * Be responsible for maintaining archival systems designed to support any open audits. * Provide strong support to the Director of Royalty Processing on issues as they arise and on projects as needed. About you: * You have… * Prior experience in music administration, ideally in publishing or with a collective management society. * A background in finance, either through professional experience or formal education. * Solid understanding of music publisher and collective management society practices. * Advanced computer skills with reporting tools such as Excel and Tableau. * Practical knowledge of royalty calculation and rate application. * Ability to read and comprehend materials and documents, as well as identify and extract critical data and information. * Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate royalty revenue accounting. * Excellent analytical skills. We’d also love it if you had: * Experience using Alteryx. * Basic understanding of coding/programming languages. * Natural curiosity and drive to understand and resolve root-cause problems. * Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems independently.
