Automotive Machinist / Automotive Machinery Operator
**1\. Purpose of the Position**
Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized machinery for manufacturing, grinding, or repairing automotive components, ensuring precision, safety, and compliance with quality standards established by the automotive workshop or plant.
**2\. Key Responsibilities**
* Operate automotive machinery such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, or diagnostic equipment.
* Perform adjustments, calibrations, and dimensional inspections of automotive parts.
* Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerances.
* Execute machining, grinding, drilling, turning, and finishing processes.
* Verify part quality using measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc.).
* Record operational parameters, cycle times, and production results.
* Perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned machinery.
* Comply with industrial safety standards, PPE usage, and operational procedures.
* Report malfunctions, deviations, or hazards related to machinery or processes.
* Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area (5S).
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
**Academic Qualifications**
* Technical degree in Automotive Mechanics, Machine Tools, Mechatronics, or related field. **(TECHNICAL LICENSE AND SEP-ISSUED TECHNICAL DEGREE MANDATORY)**
* Preferred: Courses in CNC, metrology, or industrial maintenance.
**Experience**
* 1–3 years operating automotive or industrial machinery.
* Experience in precision machining and reading engineering drawings.
**Technical Knowledge**
* Machining and grinding processes.
* Interpretation of engineering drawings and tolerances.
* Dimensional metrology.
* Industrial safety and heavy machinery operation.
* Automotive materials (steels, alloys, castings).
* Experience in programming and operating CNC machining centers, wire EDM, and lathes. Must have experience using Mastercam.
* **Experience with SpaceClaim, Haas machines, Sodick wire EDM, and Fanuc controls.**
