




The Chemist will be responsible for conducting, analyzing, and documenting physical and chemical tests to evaluate the resistance, durability, and quality of materials and components used in footwear manufacturing. They will ensure compliance with national and international standards as well as the company's internal standards. **Main Responsibilities:** * Perform laboratory tests related to abrasion resistance, flexing, tensile strength, tear strength, adhesion, hydrolysis, accelerated aging, and other applicable tests for footwear and its materials. * Conduct chemical analyses of materials such as leather, textiles, foams, adhesives, soles, and coatings. * Interpret results and issue clear, accurate technical reports in accordance with regulations (e.g., ISO, ASTM, SATRA). * Supervise calibration, maintenance, and proper operation of testing equipment. * Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and good laboratory practices. * Support failure investigations, product improvements, and selection of new materials. * Collaborate with design, engineering, production, and quality departments to enhance footwear performance. **Job Requirements:** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. * **Experience:** * Minimum 1–3 years in physical or chemical testing laboratories, preferably in the footwear, textile, plastic, or polymer industries. * Familiarity with testing standards (ISO, ASTM, SATRA, INN, NOM, or other applicable standards). * **Technical Knowledge:** * Properties of polymeric, textile, and leather materials. * Instrumental analysis techniques (e.g., FTIR, viscosity, hardness, DSC, density). * Quality control procedures and document management. * **Skills:** * Analytical ability and attention to detail. * Organization, document control, and time management. * Effective communication for presenting technical results. * Teamwork and initiative in problem-solving. **Desirable Competencies:** * Focus on continuous improvement. * Results-oriented and critical thinking. * Ability to work under strict standards and audits.
