




Overview: SSOE is hiring for a Machine Designer (D4\) to join our growing Glass/Glass Manufacturing team. We are seeking an experienced Designer with strong AutoCAD/Inventor skills, expertise in machine and material handling equipment, and a drive for innovation. Responsibilities: **A Typical Day Might Include:** The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment. * Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates medium assignments with the overall responsibility for budget adherence, quality control and inter\-discipline coordination. * Makes decisions independently on design problems, practices and methods, but may receive input on unusual or complex problems from the department manager or project engineer for proposed design solutions. * Produces finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality and field construction results. * Completes work on major engineering projects or total design work on projects of smaller or moderate scope. * Serves as a job captain on single discipline projects and may serve as a job captain on multi\-discipline projects. * Prepares or reviews budgets based on experience and scope of project. * Performs project management functions if needed. * Assigns and review work of project design team. Checks progress of work and alerts project manager to changes of scope or additional services. * Devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate them to the team. * According to the expertise level and participation scope, will represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project. * Total design and construction cost estimates according to workload demand. Qualifications: What You Will Bring:* Associate or bachelor's degree or certification of completion of other post high school training in engineering fields preferred. * Minimum (8\+) years' experience with SSOE as a Designer or ten (10\) years' experience with former employer(s). * Prior experience in machine design, material handling equipment is required. * Exposure to and familiarity of automation and equipment design, ductwork systems, and fabrication weldments. * Exposure to and familiarity of facility/utilities layout design, process layout, PFDs, and PIDs. * AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor experience is required. * Experience with Piping and equipment utilities a plus. * Plant 3D experience a plus. * Experience with SolidWorks in lieu of Inventor will be considered. * Demonstrated attention to detail. * Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. **What We Bring:** * Superior benefits such as Major and Minor medical expenses insurance, Dental and Visual insurance (Family Plan), Life insurance, 20 Days for Christmas Bonus, Food Coupons and others. * We believe in investing in our employees’ professional development and career growth.
