





**Job Description** **General Objective:** Responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with national and international regulations and certifications required for the efficient import and export of goods, supporting internal/external customers at the lowest possible cost. Supervise import and export processes, as well as the development of logistics chain suppliers. **Responsibilities/Functions:** Maintain customs policies, ensuring a consistent and up-to-date implementation aligned with evolving global needs, local regulations, and corporate policies/standards across Medline’s global manufacturing facilities. Mitigate risks associated with import and export operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and participate in various government and global trade initiatives and programs. Manage relationships and agreements with customs brokers and other third parties involved in import and export processes. Review/validate HTS classifications, administer trade programs (e.g., USMCA), rules of origin, and other export promotion programs. Manage and administer certifications for tariff deferral or utilization of credits to avoid payment of foreign trade taxes, health permit applications, other authorizations, etc. Manage supply chain security, C-TPAT and AEO security initiatives. Promote and manage departmental improvement plans, automation efforts, and tools for reviewing accurate pre- and post-clearance declaration information. Track generation of necessary data to effectively monitor metrics established by management. Implement audits of the inventory control system, compliance with tariff and non-tariff regulations, permit balances, authorizations, etc. Ensure effective training within the area and communicate relevant changes to all required stakeholders. **Communications** Ensure effective communication of changes related to responsibilities. Provide timely notification of situations requiring immediate action or managerial follow-up. Maintain ongoing communication with other department members and other areas requiring support. **Employee Relations** Ensure professional and courteous relations with department members, company personnel, suppliers, and customers. **Safety and Health** Establish necessary measures to comply with the company’s information security, industrial safety, and occupational health procedures. **Quality Systems** Follow procedures established by the Quality Department and complete the company’s quality system training requirements. **Professional Profile:** Experience/Technical Knowledge Proficiency in PC software (Excel, Word, Office, AS400/Millennium, CSAAWIN); intermediate written and spoken English (85% proficiency). Preferred Competencies / Soft Skills: Basic knowledge of medical product tariff classification; 10 years’ experience in similar positions. Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade or related field; Yellow/Green Belt certification; postgraduate studies preferred.
