Job Summary: The Tax Supervisor will manage the tax team, ensuring that all tax processes are carried out effectively and in compliance with the law. You will be involved in high level tax planning and strategy, advising management on tax matters, and overseeing the preparation of tax reports. Your leadership will be key to the success of the tax department. Responsibilities: Team Management: * Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to team members * Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback * Identify training needs and develop training programs * Foster a positive and collaborative work environment * Set goals and objectives for the team and monitor progress Tax Strategy and Compliance: * Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations * Review and analyze tax implications of business decisions * Advise clients on tax saving opportunities * Communicate with tax authorities and resolve any tax related issues Financial Analysis and Reporting: * Review and analyze financial statements to identify tax implications * Prepare and present tax reports to upper management and clients * Conduct research and stay updated on changing tax laws and regulations * Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for process enhancements * Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Team Management: * Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance. * Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively. * Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best. Qualifications: * A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. * In depth knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills to handle complex tax issues and provide strategic tax planning insights. * Expertise in tax preparation software and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and modeling. * Experience in mentoring junior staff and leading tax related projects. * Excellent communication abilities to articulate tax concepts to non tax professionals and to negotiate with tax authorities. * Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tax filings and reports. * Commitment to staying current with the ever changing tax laws and regulations through continuing education and professional development.
