Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks and provides technical support to production and engineering departments. Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electricity. Press Maintenance Technician. Department Maintenance Reports to Maintenance Supervisor. Summary. The Maintenance Technician is the primary executor of maintenance tasks, including predictive, preventive, maintenance plans, equipment and machinery breakdowns within the plant. In addition, part of their role is to provide effective and appropriate technical support to production, engineering, and process areas, as well as support installation, maintenance, relocation, and repair of all company machinery and equipment within the facility, including the building and property. Requirements * Technical degree * Five years of related experience. * Highly motivated and capable of working independently. * Ability to understand and communicate detailed instructions both orally and in writing. * Ability to multitask and set priorities. * Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership. * Ability to perform minor repairs. * Capable of developing alternative solutions to problems. * High level of judgment and sound, independent reasoning. * Highly flexible, with strong interpersonal skills enabling effective work in a diverse workplace environment. * Capable of communicating effectively both verbally and in writing. * Capable of working well under pressure. * Strong attention to detail. * Solid practical knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.). * Proven problem-solving ability. * Employee relations skills. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Tenacious personality that will not leave a problem unresolved. Core Competencies – Press Technician * Intermediate knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electricity, and electrical control. * Basic–intermediate knowledge of AC and DC motors and drives. * Basic–intermediate knowledge of Power Flex, ABB, and Simatic drives (troubleshooting, modifications, configuration). * Basic knowledge of mechanical stamping and auxiliary systems such as transfer units, sheet feeders, uncoilers, straighteners, brake-and-clutch package systems (pneumatic and hydraulic). * Knowledge of safety controls. * Knowledge of safety, LOTO, forklifts, articulating platforms, overhead crane operation, confined space entry, cutting and welding, risk analysis. Job Responsibilities * Tracks work orders to ensure job specifications (quality and quantity) and deadlines are met. * Must be prepared to be on call 24 hours per day and on weekends. * Adheres to general and real-time supervision expectations and guidelines established by the company. * Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. * Well-informed on the use of various hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment when performing tasks. * Detects defective operations or defective materials and reports these, along with any unusual situations, to appropriate supervision. * Complies with safety standards and maintains clean and orderly work areas. * Sets priorities for preventive maintenance work orders, maintenance requests, and scheduled work. * Attends meetings as required. * Completes all required department-related reports and records as needed. * Adheres to departmental procedures and systems, e.g., "preventive maintenance systems", "maintenance requests", scheduled work, and ongoing quality improvement / risk management programs. * Operates Maximo computerized preventive maintenance program. * Troubleshoots and maintains various electrical components, devices, and equipment according to applicable codes, preventive maintenance schedule, and departmental procedures. * Organizes mechanical and preventive maintenance work on equipment according to the preventive maintenance manual, e.g., circulation pumps, air treatment and refrigeration systems, etc.
