Ensure all activities conducted comply with applicable internal standards, policies, and procedures. #### **Responsibilities** * Promote a customer-centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage the Bank’s extensive relationships, systems, and expertise. * Prepare reconciliation reports between debtor and creditor accounts versus Treasury positions, as well as account reconciliation reports between Scotiabank’s ScotiaFid and ScotiaPro applications. * Certify trust fund balances for audit-related matters. * Record and consolidate pending journal entries; manage their clearance and reconcile movements generated by the ScotiaFid system against bank accounting records. * Prepare and issue financial reports and statements; such issuance is performed both automatically (via ScotiaFid) and manually to present information in detail. * Control, file, and pay federal taxes arising from the tax obligations of trusts, including submission of the annual informative tax return for trusts. * Monitor tax mailbox accounts, track official communications and requests, download tax status certificates, compliance opinions, acknowledgments, and federal tax declarations. * Issue CFDIs for income, payment complements, pensions, and retirement benefits. * Perform comparative analysis of fiduciary fee collections recorded in ScotiaFid versus ScotiaPro to ensure data accuracy. * Respond to information requests from the Institutional Legal Area, as instructed by the Legal or AML departments, requiring the Accounting Executive to identify individuals or legal entities participating in trust agreements—as settlors, beneficiaries, or third parties. * Report and escalate issues encountered during daily activities and system or application failures; provide relevant information and follow up until resolution of failures or inconsistencies, thereby avoiding operational delays that could impact customer service. * Record national-level fiduciary business accounting maintenance, validating documentation requested from Operations Executives and Fiduciary Liaisons to ensure accurate entry into the ScotiaFid system. * Cover for colleagues during absences due to vacation, medical leave, etc., ensuring continuity of functions and activities and maintaining uninterrupted operations. * Perform duties inherent to the position and any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor that support achievement of departmental objectives. * Maintain area policies and procedures up to date. * Actively participate in audits by preparing and providing requested information to internal/external auditors. * Understand the Bank’s risk culture and how risk appetite must be considered in daily activities and decisions. * Actively conduct efficient and effective operations within respective areas while ensuring the appropriateness, compliance, and effectiveness of daily business controls to fulfill obligations aimed at mitigating operational risk, regulatory non-compliance risk, money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and conduct risk—including responsibilities established under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, International Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Manual, and Business Conduct Guidelines.
