Experience with Core Tools, monitoring and improving KPIs, and problem-solving. RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of the Welding Engineer relate to process management: resolving operational, functional, quality, and design issues affecting the product, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity—thereby ensuring the integrity of our products at our Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico plant. Key Responsibilities include: Propose and execute actions to maximize process performance with a focus on continuous improvement. Develop process sheets, error-proofing measures, and work instructions. Actively participate in reducing scrap from welding processes. Implement advanced problem-solving techniques to improve scrap, FTQ, OEE, and other KPIs. Reduce welding cycle times. Manage operating instructions, registration of contact parts and critical tooling, development of “Weld Schedule” or parameter matrices, and process sheets. Strong skills and knowledge in developing FMEA and applying Reverse PFMEA (AIAG & VDA/AIAG 4th Edition). Participate in acquiring new technologies, equipment, and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Knowledge of data acquisition software and statistical analysis tools to support more efficient decision-making. Provide manufacturing support, including weekends and/or holidays. Leadership skills enabling agreement-building both within and outside the department. Communication skills enabling effective collaboration with peers across departments.
