




Job Summary: We are seeking an Industrial/Logistics Engineering intern to support the analysis, control, and improvement of laboratory processes at NORMEX. Key Highlights: 1. Acquire competencies in quality, production, and process improvement At NORMEX, we are an organization with extensive experience in conformity assessment in Mexico, actively participating in certification, inspection, standardization, and testing laboratories. We are currently seeking to integrate into our Packaging and Packaging Laboratory team a person interested in processes, continuous improvement, and operational analysis, who wishes to develop practical experience in a technical and structured environment. **Job Objective** Support the analysis, control, and improvement of laboratory processes—from sample receipt through to report issuance—contributing to optimizing delivery times and ensuring alignment with the Quality Management System. The project includes establishing standard times and proposing a tool for workload scheduling. **Main Responsibilities** * Documenting and mapping laboratory operational processes. * Analyzing time and motion per stage (receipt, testing, review, and report issuance). * Identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. * Supporting process time standardization. * Developing and updating Excel-based control tools (sample tracking, status monitoring, workload management). * Supporting laboratory activity planning and scheduling. * Tracking samples in progress and analyzing deviations. * Proposing continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives aligned with the Management System. **Requirements** * Student in final semesters or recent graduate in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field. * Availability to work part-time (morning shift), onsite in Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo. * Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup formulas, conditional formatting, and data management). **Desirable Knowledge (Not Mandatory)** * Familiarity with Work Study or Time Measurement concepts. **Competencies** * Analytical thinking. * Organization and follow-up. * Attention to detail. * Proactivity. * Responsibility and commitment. **Training Provided by NORMEX** As part of the internship, the intern will receive training and exposure to the following standards, strengthening their professional profile: * ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) * ISO/IEC 17025 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing Laboratories) * NOM-007-SCT- * LIC (Law on the Quality Infrastructure of the Laboratory) Upon completion of the project, the student will have gained practical experience in an accredited laboratory and competencies highly valued in quality, production, and process improvement areas.
