Expert wine and food pairing advice to customers ***Objective***: Responsible for cellar management, wine list design, and advising customers on ideal food and wine pairings, working closely with the chef to enhance the gastronomic experience. **Sommelier Position Profile** · **Education:** Technical or higher education in sommelier studies, oenology, or viticulture. · **Knowledge:** Extensive knowledge of viticulture, wine regions, grape varieties, technical wine tasting, and food and wine pairing. · **Skills:** Excellent communication skills, customer service orientation, sales ability, organizational skills, and capacity to work under pressure. · **Languages:** Technical or professional English proficiency is highly valued. **Main Functions and Responsibilities** · **Wine List Design:** Create and update the wine and beverage list, ensuring profitability and variety. · **Cellar Management:** Negotiate with suppliers, control inventory, and guarantee optimal storage conditions (temperature, light, humidity). · **Service and Pairing:** Advise customers on the best options, conduct technical wine tasting and service, and recommend pairings with the gastronomic offerings. · **Training:** Train front-of-house staff on available wines, their characteristics, and service techniques. · **Events:** Organize and lead wine tastings or special tastings for customers.
