At PXI Automotive Mexico, a Chinese-origin automotive company, we are seeking to integrate an **EHS COORDINATOR** with experience in occupational safety and hygiene and environmental management within the manufacturing industry. **Job Purpose:** To ensure comprehensive management of the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) function across PXI Automotive Mexico’s three plants by implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving EHS management systems; strictly complying with applicable legal requirements; and strengthening preventive and industrial/asset protection culture—aligning local practices with international and corporate standards. **Requirements:** * Environmental, Industrial, Chemical, or Occupational Safety Engineering degree, or related field. * Preferred: Master’s degree in Safety, Environmental Management, or Industrial Management. * Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in EHS roles within manufacturing or automotive sectors. * Demonstrable experience implementing ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001. * Experience coordinating multiple sites or plants. * Prior experience in automotive, export-oriented, or highly regulated compliance environments. **Required Certifications or Licenses:** * Preferred: Certification in hazardous materials handling, customs procedures, or APICS; ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001 (implementation or auditing). * Civil Protection Certification (State or Municipal level). * DC-3 as Instructor. * Knowledge of NFPA standards, STPS regulations, and SST Self-Management Programs. **Technical Knowledge:** * STPS Regulations: NOM-001, NOM-002, NOM-004, NOM-005, NOM-017, NOM-019, NOM-026, among others. * Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001). * Risk assessment, root cause analysis, work permits. * Hazardous waste and chemical substance management. * Asset and industrial protection (fire prevention, perimeter security, emergency response). * Management of internal and external audits. * Languages: Fluent English (spoken and written) **Key Competencies:** * Leads EHS teams with operational focus and regulatory compliance orientation. * Develops EHS plans aligned with business objectives and legal requirements. * Communicates clearly across all organizational levels. * Organizes projects, audits, and documentation compliance. * Addresses incidents ethically and with practical solutions. Drives sustainable improvements in EHS processes. **Job Responsibilities:** * Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health, industrial safety, civil protection, and environmental regulations (STPS, LGPC, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SEMARNAT, Municipal and State Civil Protection). * Design, implement, and maintain integrated EHS management systems—including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001—ensuring continuous improvement and readiness for internal and external audits. * Coordinate and standardize EHS strategies across the company’s three operational plants, aligning local practices with corporate policies and customer requirements. * Identify, assess, and mitigate physical, chemical, biological, and organizational risks. * Supervise implementation of operational controls and emergency response systems. * Implement technical and organizational measures to prevent losses, fires, sabotage, vandalism, or major accidents. * Lead EHS campaigns, training sessions, and internal committees, promoting a safety culture across multicultural teams (China-Mexico). * Collaborate closely with Human Resources to ensure safe, healthy, inclusive, and legally compliant workplaces. * Establish and monitor key EHS performance indicators (KPIs). * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management. **Important Notes:** * This position requires regular travel between plants located in Querétaro. * Must serve as liaison among senior management, external authorities, and operational staff. * Confidentiality, proactivity, and alignment with PXI’s core values—integrity, cooperation, results orientation, innovation, and people-centeredness—are expected.
