Ensures safe and efficient movement of materials within a shipping center, warehouse, or storage facility. Skills, Capabilities, and Proficiency (Responsibility Matrix) * Leads the organization’s procurement and inventory management activities, including raw material receipt, material flow, and finished goods distribution. * Supports production scheduling on all matters related to material flow to meet production schedules and customer requirements. * Plans and coordinates the physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure cost optimization and service-level targets. * Establishes and implements processes to ensure timely disposition of obsolete and excess materials. * Trains shipping department personnel on roles or responsibilities related to global logistics strategies. * Monitors key material performance indicators, such as cycle counting, inventory turnover, and safety stock levels. * Communicates freight transportation information to customers or suppliers via transportation management systems, electronic logistics platforms, or electronic cargo information systems to improve transportation efficiency, speed, or service quality. * Resolves issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer concerns. * Issues and delivers correct materials to the production floor, maintains inventory control, and manages material shipment and receipt to ensure proper flow. * Receives and verifies quality and quantity of incoming material shipments. * Assembles packaging, packs, inspects product quality, weighs, organizes, and reviews shipping documentation. * Loads and unloads materials within a warehouse or storage facility. * Uses manual pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes, or any other material handling equipment to move materials to and from locations or transport vehicles within the facility. * Promotes continuous improvement by participating in Lean Kaizen events. * Navigates and uses software platforms employed for material shipment and receipt. * Has experience solving problems to improve inventory cycle counting and replenishment systems. **Business Partner:** * Builds strong relationships and provides effective communication, prioritization, and alignment among value streams, sites, business units, and functions. * Demonstrates ability to interact with external business partners and ensure seamless integration of supply chain processes. * Follows up as needed with all teams to expedite material and document flow to meet production schedules and customer expectations. * Collaborates with Scheduling, Planning, Commercial Compliance, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and the Materials team. **Center of Excellence:** * Demonstrates capabilities in material management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), pull systems, flow, and application of Lean concepts. * Possesses high attention to detail, follow-up capability, and customer-service focus. * Promotes continuous improvement in material flow systems. * Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, organizational, and communication skills. * Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. * Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
