Core Competencies * Customer-focused * Adaptability and Flexibility * Analytical * Coaching and Mentoring * Collaborative * Reliable * Customer Focus * Communication * Teamwork * Problem Solving * Time Management * Creative and Innovative Thinking * Continuous Development and Learning Job Responsibilities * Participate in analysis of technology and resources to plan and evaluate feasibility of new, modified, or improved processes. * Participate in review and approval of product and process design and changes. * Analyze and resolve process-related and cross-functional issues. * Track permanent corrective action plans to resolve any outstanding issues related to quality, production, equipment, tooling, customers, and process controls. * Participate in development of process sheets, part changes, manufacturing process cost, material/process standards, and packaging (PCR). * Participate in engineering changes to meet customer timelines (ECN). * Evaluate and validate all equipment required for programs. * Liaise with suppliers for plant projects and equipment purchases for projects, ECNs, and improvements. * Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality, and cost to sustain profitability and competitiveness. * Immediately inform Engineering Management if any activity may impact the customer’s process timeline or delivery schedule, or if additional support or resources beyond one’s scope are required. * Support all actions to respond to and resolve customer issues related to process design. * Support all actions for containment and resolution of internal quality issues related to process design. * Review Customer Requirements and ensure compliance—particularly regarding critical characteristics related to the process. * Responsible for ensuring that production processes and methods are designed to produce quality products per specifications. * Responsible for definition/approval of Poka-Yokes and execution of Red Rabbits. * Actively participate in new project and engineering change meetings. * Participate in and assume responsibility for process improvements. * Participate in coordination of plant layout changes/approvals. * Develop and implement rework or reprocessing instructions, and ensure proper disposition of suspect material. * Participate in findings reported by Safe Launch / Dock Audit / Andon, and provide support if process-related issues arise. * Responsible for analysis of installed production capacity. * Additional tasks assigned by Engineering Manager. * Responsible for development, control, and updating of: * Process Flow Diagram (after PPAP approval) * PFMEA (after PPAP approval) * Standard Operating Instructions and initial operator training in coordination with Production Supervisor. * Error-Proofing Devices (Poka-Yokes, Red Rabbits, error-proofing) and their validation. * Setup Sheets for machine startup, jointly with machine technicians or setters. * Rework and reprocessing instructions. * Development and improvement of workstations and operator training. * Control and updating of Process Capability Studies (line utilization). * Development and improvement to achieve standard process efficiency and R@R approval. Completion of R@R documentation and submission to customer. * Process development and improvement to achieve product and process CpK and PpK. * Motion study, cycle time analysis, and bottleneck identification. * Material flow improvement analysis. * Design, development, validation, and fabrication of process racks—for chrome, painting, e-coat, X-tree, and fixtures for polishing stations or other supporting processes, etc. * Management of customer portals regarding process capacity management (line utilization). * Participation in problem solving, root cause analysis, and 8D, Fast Response, and Tier-1 meetings. * Perform other tasks as directed by Engineering Manager. Job Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering—or related field. * English language proficiency (Intermediate) * Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Manufacturing, preferably in processes similar to those at the plant. * Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing. * Proficiency in CAD, FMEA, and CATIA systems. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project). * Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyze, solve problems, process, modify, and improve design and equipment. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Strong planning and time management skills. * Solid project management skills. * Ability to clearly communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineering team members. * Principles and practices of Lean Manufacturing. * Detail-oriented.
