At **SMTEK**, we are looking for a **Technical Sales Engineer** passionate about technology and commercial challenges—someone who combines **industrial automation expertise** with **negotiation and technical consulting skills**, advising companies on implementing **automation and control solutions** that optimize their productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness. ***Requirements:*** * **Education:** Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Control Engineering, or related field. * **Experience:** 2–5 years in technical sales, preferably in industrial automation or control. * PLCs, HMIs, frequency inverters, industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.). * Instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and pneumatics. * Electrical or automation design software (TIA Portal, Studio 5000, AutoCAD, Eplan). * **Languages:** Intermediate–advanced English (reading manuals, communicating with suppliers). * **Mobility:** Willingness to travel within the Toluca region and surrounding areas. ***Main Responsibilities:*** * Prospect and develop clients in sectors such as automotive, food, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and others. * Identify opportunities for improvement in production processes and propose automation solutions (PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics, machine vision, sensors, pneumatics, etc.). * Prepare technical-commercial proposals, quotations, and integration projects. * Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, negotiation, closing, and after-sales support. * Provide technical advisory to customers through presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept trials. * Collaborate with engineering and support teams to design tailored solutions for each client’s needs. * Achieve sales targets and contribute to the growth of the assigned region. * Stay updated on trends and solutions in **Industry 4.0**. ***Soft Skills:*** * Clear and effective communication. * Negotiation and sales closing. * Technical consulting focused on customized solutions. * Organization and efficient time management. * Initiative, proactivity, and results orientation. * Analytical ability to understand industrial processes. * Development of strong, long-term business relationships. * Passion for continuous learning in emerging technologies.
