Verify figures, journal entries, and documents for accuracy. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash, and cash equivalents per policies and procedures. Record, store, and/or analyze computerized financial and payroll information. Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, audit, or payroll charts and reports. Maintain, update, create, secure, and archive employee payroll records and files. Review, verify, and reconcile time card punches, hours worked, salary adjustments, and other related pay data; enter information into designated records. Back up transaction files and transmit them to the payroll system per company procedures. Process and/or issue employee payroll checks and earnings and deduction statements. Compute employee wages and deductions (e.g., union dues, insurance, parking, 401k plan) and enter them into the payroll system. Provide information to employees and managers or supervisors regarding payroll-related topics, tax matters, benefit plans, and provisions of collective bargaining and agreements. Complete group payroll adjustments. Adjust basic time clock system settings (e.g., employee schedules, time clock restrictions) and correct time card punches. Comply with company policies and procedures; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Communicate with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using proper protocol. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team in achieving common goals; listen and respond appropriately to concerns raised by other employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is not required.
